MOVES 3 AIDS FOR THE INSTALLATION OF RECHARGING POINTS

If you are thinking of buying an electric car or installing a recharging point, in this article we explain the aid you can benefit from when switching to electric vehicles. The MOVES III Plan is endowed with 400 million euros, to be divided between two actions: the purchase of plug-in and fuel cell cars and the installation of recharging points for electric cars.

 The MOVES 3 Plan is coordinated by the IDAE, but it is each autonomous community that publishes and manages the subsidies.

How much assistance can I receive under the MOVES III Plan?

The aid received for the installation of a recharging point corresponds to a percentage of the eligible cost and varies according to the type of beneficiary.

For individuals, self-employed, communities of owners and administration without economic activity, the corresponding aid is 70%, except for installations in municipalities of less than 5,000 inhabitants where the aid amounts to 80% of the eligible cost.

In the case of companies and public entities that install a public access recharging point and whose power is higher than 50kW, they will be able to obtain a 35% aid. The aid will be 40% for installations in municipalities with less than 5,000 inhabitants. If the company invoiced is a medium-sized or small company, the aid percentage increases by 10 and 20 percent, respectively.

For companies or public entities with economic activity that decide to install a private or public recharging point with a power of less than 50 kW, the MOVES 3 aid will be 30% of the eligible cost, and 40% for installations in municipalities with less than 5,000 inhabitants.

The MOVES 3 Plan in Andalusia (Marbella, Estepona, Mijas, San Pedro de Alcántara)

The deadline for submitting applications is September 20, 2021. The installation company is in charge of applying for the aid for the beneficiary. A special feature of the MOVES 3 Plan applications in Andalusia is that the beneficiary must apply for a building permit before starting the installation of the recharging point.

Aid for the purchase of plug-in cars

Subsidies for the purchase of electric cars are essential to encourage the renewal of the Spanish car fleet. Old cars are a danger to everyone else, so now all brands are trying to offer several efficient and much more economical electric models in the long term.

The MOVES 3 Plan is a very interesting option if you wish to purchase a plug-in car. It offers aid of up to 4,500 € for plug-in vehicles with a range equal to or greater than 90 km. In the event that the purchase of the plug-in car is accompanied by the scrapping of a car more than seven years old, the aid of the MOVES III Plan amounts to €7,000.

On the other hand, there is an obligation for manufacturers, importers and sales outlets to provide a discount of at least €1,000 for purchases of M1 and N1 category vehicles.

The amount of aid may be increased by 10% in the following cases:

inhabitants of a municipality with less than 5,000 inhabitants,

cars intended for cab and VTC use,

users with reduced mobility who require a vehicle adapted to their condition.
